Mining billionaire Gina Rinehart has received the top accolade at an awards ceremony in Malaysia for her commitment to excellence in supply chain logistics and transport systems.

The head of Hancock Prospecting said she was honoured to receive an International Lifetime Achievement Award from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport at a ceremony in Malaysia.
“When this award was decided, we had not finalised our finance for Roy Hill with our minority Asian partners and now we are making major progress with construction,” Mrs Rinehart said, referring to her $US10 billion ($10.77bn) iron ore project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
“This will be the largest ever financing development of a land-based mining and infrastructure project anywhere in the world and I am pleased to say this infrastructure will be in Australia.’’
Construction of the project is almost halfway complete, including a dedicated 344km heavy rail line to a port with a twin-berth 800m-long wharf.
“Construction is moving quickly on our infrastructure in rugged northwestern Australia, with first shipment scheduled for September next year,” Mrs Rinehart said.
“In the very competitive international mining industry, getting your infrastructure and logistics right is essential for reliable and successful trade, and Roy Hill will run the most technologically modern systems of their kind in Australia.”
The Remote Operations Centre in Perth, 1500km south of the project, is already constructed.
“We have invested in the latest control and automation technologies — rapid refuelling and maintenance systems to reduce turnaround times to make this one of the most modern infrastructure systems in the world,” Mrs Rinehart said.
