Over the past few months a Federal Government taskforce has travelled to 33 places across Australia to get direct feedback about the opportunities and challenges ahead for Australian agriculture.
Submissions have just closed for the Agricultural White Paper which aims to deliver a strategy to improve the industry’s competitiveness and profitability.
The review couldn’t come at a better time for drought crippled farmers fearful of the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
On a recent tour of Queensland’s outback Cathy Van Extel caught up with graziers in Boulia in the central west who believe rising prices and falling profits are a bigger national challenge than drought.
