Unemployed Greeks seek opportunities in Darwin

There are reports emerging since the weekend that Darwin is seeing an influx of Greek migrants fleeing the debt-ridden eurozone economy in search of new economic opportunities for themselves and their families.
The Honorary Consul for Greece in the Northern Territory, John Anictomatis, has said:
“For the last six months, the figures show that on average about 10 new arrivals a week are coming back to Darwin, whether it’s family groups or people coming back on their own before they bring their families back to Australia.”
An NT government minister Kon Vatskalis has called on the Federal Government to consider implementing special working visas for Greeks who can’t find jobs in their homeland.
Good on you Kon, we agree.
