IT is hoped the Green Paper on Developing Northern Australia will help the country tap into the skyrocketing Asian economies.
The report states that by 2050, Asia could account for half of global output, trade and investment through sustained growth in countries including China, India, South Korea and Indonesia.
It also reports that by 2020, more than half of the world’s middle class will be in Asia, driving up demand for quality exports from Australia. A lot of those exports can come from North Queensland and be shipped via Darwin.
